Psycho Kitty or Klutz Kitty?

Watching me

Watching the birds. The mat says "The cat is in charge here". One of my grandkids gave it to me a couple of Christmases ago.

I have spent two days trying to upload a video I'd taken of Mitzi, with no success. Blogger spat the dummy on it for some reason...so there are a couple of photos instead.

From the terrified little kitten I first knew, Mitzi has become more confident, to the point where I'm not safe, even when I'm on the loo! She figures I can't go anywhere so she can attack me.

She tears around the place slamming her paws down so that it sounds more like a herd of elephants rather than one small cat. She hides under the bed and around corners to ambush me. She flies up the drapes and the insect screens. I'm rather inclined to think if her as a small terrorist with destruction of my peace of mind as her target. She is demanding...especially when she's hungry, but she doesn't squeak as kittens do...she squeals, piercingly loud.

At night, when I go around turning off the computer, shutting doors and switching off lights, she knows there's a little bit of playtime coming and goes absolutely ballistic...up onto the bed, off the other side, into the bathroom, laundry, kitchen and back onto the bed. She crouches down, tail swishing, eyes bugging out, waiting for my feet to move under the doona. With a flying leap, she launches herself into the air and...disappears over the side of the bed. She isn't too good at judging distances yet. Or else, she tries to turn around on the window sill and falls off. That's why I ask the question...psycho or klutz? I think she has a split personality actually and is a bit of both.

She has a prodigous appetite and gets all excited when I open the fridge or pantry doors. She's realised that's where her yummies come from. And when I'm getting her food ready, she does this tearing around the place thing again...just like a kid, showing off and getting over-excited.

Although Mitzi wasn't talking to me yesterday after I perpetrated the indignity on her of putting flea powder on. It's natural, made from melaleuca, peppermint and lavendar. She hates it, but I think she smells beautiful. Whatever, it does the job of keeping the fleas at bay, because, as I explained to her, having fleas is so low class. I don't think she was particularly impressed with that argument though. Tough! I'm not having a flea bitten cat in the house and I told her so.

Thanks for your comment on Petra, I think it was one of the most beautiful places I have seen in my whole life. You are very early for COT, lol ! I discovered it because somebody talked me into Google Reader so it's now in my Google bar and whenever somebody of my "favourites" publish I know it right away.
What a big difference between your Mitzi and my Rosie ! Rosie has never done all this, although she has her crazy minutes where she "flies" over the furniture making a noise like a growling dog. She really is a goody goody ! She doesn't scratch the furniture, never attacked me or Mr. Gattino plays alone for hours, I tell you I had never had a cat like that. She is very very careful in everything.Your Mitzi seems to have quite a character but she is soooo cute ! I am sure you have a lot of fun with her. And she grew a lot since Christmas !

Mitzi, you sound like a typical kitten! A little bit clumsy and a little bit crazy! Our humans call Merlin "Psycho" since he tears through the house, and attacks just about everything!

I found a really entertaining cat-falling-asleep video I posted up it is hilarious... the cat reminds me of your Mitz...

what else...

o yeah have you ever tried catnip on her? I've heard it only works on 2/3 cats but I got my friend's cat stoned out of his head on it when she was in hospital after a heart attack (I say friend: she was 30 yrs older than me at least) I steeped the catnip in boiling water then cooled with cold and put on saucer for his entertainment... he was a sullen swine who HATED living upstairs in flats where he had to run the gauntlet of every other cat along the balcony... I'd never seen "Parsnip" (as I personally named him) so purring and happy!

Don't forget to put your name in Mr. Linky !!
For videos you should use Photobucket that goes quick and without problem. Blogger is not up to date yet, I once tried and gave it up !
